The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and the changes to public safety guidelines being issued by governmental health organizations are both rapidly evolving.
The Cormorant Utility Services Group of Companies is working hard to ensure the health, safety and environment of our employees, our customers and the general public, while still working diligently on the services and products we deliver.
Cormorant Utility Services has now moved into stage two across our businesses and have applied all required provincially mandated solutions to keep our staff safe while in the workplace. Our staff have since the onset of this pandemic been declared an Essential Service as we work within the Utilities business. This put our staff at the front lines of keeping the electrical power flowing throughout Ontario and the Maritime Provinces.
We implemented early precautions by keeping our staff at home safely working within their capacity using remote IT technologies. For those staff that were needed in the field we provided Education, PPE and support to do their jobs with the utmost of safety at all times.
As we move into stage two (Ontario) we are now at a place where we are bringing all staff back to our offices and applying the best in class protections in barrier controls, sanitation, physical distancing and Personal Protective Equipment. Everyone must do their part to keep each other, our families and our communities safe.
Cormorant Utility Services abides by these basic principles adopted across Canada.
Staying at home and away from others if you are feeling ill.
Washing your hands frequently with soap and water.
Maintaining physical distancing of at least two meters from people outside your immediate household in public.
Using an alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Practicing good hygiene (avoiding touching your face and covering your cough or sneeze).
Wearing a face covering in public where physical distancing is a challenge or not possible.
Limiting outings and public gatherings as per emergency provincial orders.
Increasing cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
Minimizing travel and self-isolating for 14 days after all international travel.
Working remotely or redesigning spaces and interactions to make them safer.
Getting tested if you are worried you have or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Protecting the most vulnerable.
